In this story:

Upon entering the NBA, a few highly-touted first-year players will find an opportunity to sign some early endorsements before tackling their rookie campaign. With an increasing number of players around the league finding shoe contracts and elevating their brand, it is becoming more and more common to see guys get lucrative deals before stepping foot in a regular season game.

Now, with Nike’s recent decision to bring on 13 rookies to the brand, that trend has continued. Headlined by San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama, Charlotte Hornets' Brandon Miller, and twins Ausar Thompson and Amen Thompson, Nike racked up a good chunk of the top talent within the top half of the 2023 NBA Draft.

Another exciting addition comes with the signing of Utah Jazz G Keyonte George. After a stellar few Summer League games combined with an impressive preseason campaign, the rookie has established enough credit to gain the nod of approval from Nike.

While this doesn’t mean we will get to see a signature shoe from Keyonte just yet, it does earn him the highly-coveted honor of becoming a Nike athlete. Fans may see him rocking some LeBron’s or KD's along the course of the regular season, with aspirations to earn his shoe with continued impressive play.

While George has earned his stripes (or checks, in this case), the two other first-rounders for the Jazz, F Taylor Hendricks and F Brice Sensabaugh, have yet to see any traction on their deals. However, as long as their development runs smoothly, a whole NBA career lies ahead of them to gain that glory.

George will debut his career (and hopeful Rookie of the Year campaign) during the Jazz home opener vs. the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday at 7 PM MST.
