In this story:

With their three first-round picks in this NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz faced immense pressure to get their selections right. With the amount of draft capital the front office had in such an early part of their newly-formed rebuild, they had to ensure they aced their picks.

And that they did.

After selecting Taylor Hendricks, Keyonte George, and Brice Sensabaugh, this team excelled at taking the best available player they could at each pick. While we have yet to witness any action from Hendricks or Sensabaugh on the court due to injury, George looks like a potential star in the making.

The Jazz are self-aware of how well they stand. According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, an anonymous Jazz executive filled him in on how people in the building feel about the results of the draft earlier this summer:

“Whenever you have three first-round picks, it’s going to be hard to feel like you nailed all of them, but we really did. Taylor (Hendricks) is going to be a terrific two-way player. It’s rare to find someone as skilled as he is, but that also likes to defend too. Keyonte (George) is already showing his leadership and toughness. He’s going to prove a lot of people wrong. And Brice (Sensabaugh) is going to be really good too.

The exec continued to praise the performance of the front office in last year’s offseason, positioning themselves for maximum flexibility moving forward:

"You add them to last year’s rookies, Walker (Kessler), Ochai (Agbaji), and Johnny (Juzang) and that’s six guys in two years. That’s how you fill out your roster while keeping a ton of cap flexibility for the future.

With the substantial amount of young talent on this roster on their rookie deals, there is a lot to love with how this team can build for the future. Especially with team-friendly deals like the Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson contracts, the Jazz can easily continue to build upon an already solid base.

Another intriguing part of this quote is the subtle mention of Johnny Juzang within the collection of rookies from last season, despite only having a pending offer on a two-way contract for next year. It seems as if the team is still high on what he could bring to Utah, indicating a possible return for next season.

With the amount of youth and potential the Jazz have on hand, the excitement should be through the roof for what the future of this team holds. If the people in charge of this entire option are pumped, you should be too.
