For starters, the Jazz will kick off the regular season at home against De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings on October 25th. Last year, the Kings and Jazz each exceeded national expectations in their final placements in the West standings. Now, both teams look to begin the season by continuing that momentum.
When it comes to the first road stint and nationally televised game for the Jazz, it’ll be against the Phoenix Suns on October 28th. After the Suns acquired Bradley Beal this offseason by trading Chris Paul, the Jazz will be one of the first teams to see how this new-look Suns team will fare.
The first LeBron James appearance is set to be held in LA, as the Los Angeles Lakers will play the Jazz on November 21st in Crypto.com Arena. This game will be one of the few a part of the new NBA In-Season Tournament, so Utah will face the challenge of stopping LeBron’s first effort at a tournament win.
The Jazz will also see some familiar faces throughout the year, playing Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley, and the rest of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the first time on November 30th. Their first match will be held in Minneapolis, as March 16th will mark the former Jazzmen’s first appearance in Utah for the season.
As for Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz will match up against the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 20th in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Fans will see Spider back in Utah on April 1st, which could end as a key game late in the year with some playoff implications for both teams.
There also will be Jazz basketball played on some holidays this year. Utah hosts the Dallas Mavericks at the beginning of the new year on New Year’s Day, plays the Indiana Pacers at home on MLK Jr. Day, and will celebrate Easter on March 31st in Sacramento.
That’s only a small chunk of the best matchups the Jazz will have during 2023-24. While the league did end up shorting Utah with only one game on ESPN and one on TNT, there will still be some entertaining and competitive basketball from this team next season.
