Kings-Mavericks Injury Report: Luka Doncic Status Revealed

The Kings host the Mavericks on Friday night in a must-win bounce back game.

The Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks went head-to-head on Tuesday night, as the Mavericks embarrassed the Kings in Sacramento, coming out with a 132-96 win. The two talented teams are battling for playoff position, as the Mavericks (sixth place) sit just one game ahead of the Kings (eighth place), with the Phoenix Suns sandwiched in between.

The Kings are trying to escape the Play-In Tournament, not wanting to take a chance at an early exit before the first round of the playoffs. In Tuesday's matchup, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Tim Hardaway Jr. led Dallas' offense, combining for 74 points and 20 assists, while nobody seemed to want to step up for Sacramento.

The Kings lead the season series against the Mavericks 2-1, with both wins coming in Dallas. After taking the tough home loss on Tuesday, Sacramento must bounce back to defend their home court on Friday.

Each team has released their Injury Reports ahead of Friday's matchup:

Sacramento Kings:

Kevin Huerter - OUT (shoulder)

Trey Lyles - OUT (knee)

Sasha Vezenkov - QUESTIONABLE (ankle)

Dallas Mavericks:

Luka Doncic - QUESTIONABLE (Achilles)

Josh Green - OUT (ankle)

Maxi Kleber - OUT (knee)

With Doncic given a "questionable" status ahead of Friday's game, the Kings could find themselves with a serious advantage if the Dallas superstar is sidelined. Sacramento will remain down Lyles and Huerter, both dealing with long-term injuries, while Vezenkov is questionable to return to action after missing 28 of the last 30 games with multiple ankle injuries.

Doncic played in Tuesday's matchup despite being listed as "questionable," so Kings fans should not get too excited about the idea of the league's top scorer missing Friday's game. If the Kings take another loss to the Mavericks, their goal of escaping the Play-In Tournament will start slipping away. While there are still ten games remaining for Sacramento, Friday's matchup is a must-win.

The Kings and Mavericks tip off at 7 PM PT on NBA TV.
