New developments continue to swirl surrounding the turbulent Milwaukee Bucks and their search for new coaching guidance. After deciding to fire newly hired Adrian Griffin on Tuesday after 43 games and a 30-13 record, the team has opted to bring in former NBA champion Doc Rivers to lead the way.

It was an unexpected move that sent the NBA world into a frenzy, given that it’s not often you see a top-seeded team move off their current head coach (especially only a few months removed from bringing him on).

However, it seems like the Bucks may not be done making adjustments to their staff.

According to a report from NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former  Sacramento Kings coach Dave Joerger could be in play to join Doc Rivers’ coaching staff with the Bucks:

One high-level assistant coach available and under consideration to rejoin Doc Rivers in Milwaukee: Dave Joerger, sources tell ESPN. Joerger — former head coach with Memphis and Sacramento— spent three seasons with Rivers in Philadelphia.

Joerger was the head coach of the Kings from 2016-2019, amounting to a 98-148 regular season record. He also spent the previous three years as the coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, and most recently was a member of Rivers’ staff with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Bringing in a familiar face like Joerger could help make this mid-season transition a bit simpler for Rivers. Even if his stint as a head coach in this league was less than ideal, having his experience and presence with the team could be a valued addition for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co.

In the coming days, we’ll likely hear more news surrounding the search for a supporting cast for Rivers and the Bucks in hopes to get this season back on track to championship-level form.
