NBA Media Ranks Kings' All-Star Tandem as a Top 10 'Superstar Duo'

In this story:
Following the blockbuster trade earlier in the week that sent G Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, the conversation of superstar duos has resurfaced. Pairing Lillard with All-NBA F Giannis Antetokounmpo might give the Bucks enough power to win another championship.
The 2022 NBA Champions Denver Nuggets proved that sometimes all it takes is a star duo to get the job done. C Nikola Jokic and G Jamal Murray willed the Nuggets to their first championship in franchise history.
Colin Ward-Henniger of CBS Sports ranked the top 10 'NBA superstar duos' as All-Star tandems seem to be taking over the league. The Sacramento Kings duo of G De'Aaron Fox and C Domantas Sabonis found their way onto the list, ranking as the 9th-best duo in the league.
Ward-Henniger praised Sabonis for his contribution to the Kings achieving the best offensive rating in NBA history:
Sabonis served as the hub of Mike Brown's offense, reading dribble hand-offs, making perfectly timed passes to cutters and punishing mismatches in the post. He joined Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson and Nikola Jokic as the only players in league history to average at least 19 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a season -- decent company.
Sabonis has been an All-Star caliber player since his time with the Indiana Pacers but is revolutionizing his game while playing alongside Fox, who was equally impressive last season:
And then there's Fox, a blur of a guard who blew away the field to win the league's inaugural Clutch Player of the Year award. He continued his incredible play in his first postseason, putting up 27 points, eight assists and five rebounds per game in a seven-game series loss to the Warriors.
Fox and Sabonis were joined by Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as the only other duo to both achieve 2022-23 All-NBA team honors.
The NBA is transitioning from the prioritization of "big threes" to "superstar duos," which falls directly in the Kings' favor. Sacramento will continue to build around their All-NBA tandem in hopes of making an NBA Finals run.
