Kings' Malik Monk Jokes on Keegan Murray's Poster Dunk

In this story:
The Sacramento Kings have had bad luck to start their 2023-24 season, as All-Star G De'Aaron Fox was sidelined due to an ankle injury. The Kings struggled to find a spark of energy with him on the bench, losing three consecutive games, but have found their rhythm again, winning back-to-back pivotal matchups.
The Kings got a much-needed boost from F Keegan Murray in Friday's In-Season Tournament win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, pitching in 24 points and 11 rebounds, capitalized by a poster dunk over Thunder C Chet Holmgren.

Murray's explosive play has Kings fans discussing whether his dunk was more impressive than the highlight dunk G Malik Monk had in the season opener against the Utah Jazz.

Despite Kings fans going crazy about the highlight dunk, Monk was not too impressed with Murray's slam on Friday. Following Sunday's practice, Monk told the media how he believes his dunk was better (via @SeanCunningham | X):
"[Murray's dunk was] not close. Not close to mine [against the Jazz]. It wasn't even a body. He jumped beside Chet, I told him that in the game."

Though both dunks were wildly spectacular, it is comical how Monk admits how unimpressed he was with no hesitation. The two explosive plays display exactly what this Kings team needs, especially with Fox sidelined.
Murray was expected to step up with the All-Star point guard out, and his breakout game with the exclamation point dunk showed the organization that he is ready to take a sophomore leap.
