Kings HC Mike Brown on Recent Trade Rumors: ‘It’s Part of Our Business'

Among the many NBA teams mentioned in speculation ahead of the trade deadline, one of the most prominent has been none other than the Sacramento Kings. As recently as Friday night, we saw them quickly enter and exit discussions on making a deal for Toronto Raptors All-Star Pascal Siakam.

While those discussions ultimately led to nowhere in less than an hour, it effectively opens the possibility of the Kings making a splash on the market in the coming weeks. With developments of new moves and possibilities arising almost every day, it can sometimes tend to affect the energy surrounding the team.

Kings’ head coach Mike Brown spoke on the rumors and trade talks surrounding the team ahead of their matchup against the Raptors, noting that those whispers are simply a part of the business:

“Everybody’s human, so everybody feels it in some way, shape, or form. You can talk about it as much as you want, or as little as you want, but at the end of the day, as you just said: rumors and speculation are rampant as the trade deadline nears every year for every team. It’s part of our business. You just gotta deal with it and move forward as best as you can."

There remains a good chunk of time until the NBA trade deadline passes, with the cutoff scheduled for noon PT on February 8th. Until then, Kings players and fans will have to buckle down in preparation for the unpredictable weeks ahead.

The Kings are coming off two straight wins with the chance to make it three against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday at 3 PM PT in the Golden One Center.
