What Donte DiVincenzo's Knicks Contract Looks Like

New York Knicks free agent pickup Donte DiVincenzo will receive $47 million guaranteed plus incentives for year-end honors.

The New York Knicks signed Golden State Warriors free agent guard Donte DiVincenzo to a four-year, $50 million contract this offseason, a deal that was made official over the weekend.

Fred Katz of The Athletic provided a deeper look at DiVincenzo's new deal, which features $47 million guaranteed.

DiVincenzo will make $10.9 million this coming season with respective increases of $500,000 and $600,000 before closing out at $12.5 million come 2026-27.

The remaining $3 million will have to be earned through yearly incentives that Katz labels "unlikely."

Such incentives, including MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, All-NBA Team, Most Improved Player, and Sixth Man of the Year, are worth $750,000 each.

For as much as he has improved since arriving as Milwaukee's first-round pick in 2018 DiVincenzo might be hard-pressed, most of those awards might be out of his realm but his time at Villanova alongside Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart hinted at his prowess off the bench.

The trio won a national title in 2016 before Hart went to the NBA a year later. Brunson and DiVincenzo earned another one a year later, the latter earning both the Big East's Sixth Man of the Year Award and the Most Outstanding Player honor at the Final Four. DiVincenzo's 31 points in the final win over Michigan set a national semifinal/championship record for a player coming off the bench.

Now that DiVincenzo's with his former Villanova teammates, he may be able to revive the chemistry he had a few years ago.

DiVincenzo's most dangerous competition for NBA's Sixth Man title might be one of his own teammates: Immanuel Quickley shined as the Knicks' first man off the bench last year and was the runner-up for honor behind Boston's Malcolm Brogdon

However, with all the contract disputes and trade rumors floating around him, it is uncertain if Quickley will be donning the orange and blue beyond this coming season, which could open the door to an extra payday for the accomplished collegiate reserve.
