New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose is set to become a free agent this week, and the former 2011 NBA MVP is expected to have options.

Rose averaged a career-low 5.6 points per game this past season with the Knicks in just 27 appearances. He was removed from the rotation in December and took the floor in just one regular season game in the new calendar year, drawing cheers upon his late entry in a February win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, three teams have already expressed interest in adding Rose.

"Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Chicago have all quickly been cited as teams expected to have a level of interest in former MVP Derrick Rose after the Knicks declined to pick up their $15.6 million team option on Rose for next season," Stein writes. "The Knicks are likewise expected to ask Rose to return at a lower number if he does not sign elsewhere."

Considering the Phoenix Suns just traded Chris Paul, there is a need for a point guard, and Rose could get playing time in the Valley on a minimum deal. The Milwaukee Bucks were the league's best team a year ago, and they would provide a serious chance for Rose to win his first championship.

A return to the Chicago Bulls wouldn't exactly net guaranteed playing time nor a chance to win a championship next year, but it would give Rose an opportunity to play for his hometown team one last time before hanging up his sneakers. Rose has been greeted warmly every time he's taken the floor as an opponent at United Center, including the Knicks' most recent visit in December.
