Anonymous NBA Scout Has Harsh Words for New Lakers Guard

Say it with your CHEST.

LA needed some backcourt depth this offseason after they lost both Dennis Schroder and Lonnie Walker IV to other teams in free agency.

Plenty of Laker fans expressed excitement after GM Rob Pelinka filled the gap with recent NBA Finals starter Gabe Vincent from the Heat.

Though he's on a manageable three-year contract one anonymous scout had some stark criticism for the guard's postseason performance last season.

Vincent may have ended the Finals poorly against the Denver Nuggets but in Game 2 he was instrumental for Miami's only win in that series.

The guard scored 23 points included four triples to push the Heat to their only victory in the series.

Before that series, the guard dominated in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals that pushed Boston to the brink of elimination thanks to his playoff-high 29-point effort.

Even during the second round, Vincent proved worthy on the biggest stage after he strung together three straight 20-point games in the Heat's victory over the Knicks.

Talks of his struggles are quite overblown as Miami wouldn't have made the Finals without his great play throughout the playoffs.

Consistency is hard to come by in the postseason and such a phenomenon isn't unique to only Vincent.

D'Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis can attest to these struggles after their on-off postseason games throughout the 2023 playoffs.

What can't be denied is Vincent's obvious contributions to this year's Laker team through his good shooting and point-of-attack defense.

LA had both of these skills split across Schroder and Walker IV last season, but the former Gaucho brings each of these weapons to his game simultaneously.

Such will be necessary for LA's push for an 18th title in 2024 and Vincent hopes to prove his critics wrong.
