Ex-Champ Lists 2 Hall Of Fame Lakers Among List Of Preferred Teammates

Keeping things close!

Looking back at both of the Lakers championship teams in the late 2000's, they had a number of role players that bought into Phil Jackson's triangle offense and simply fulfilled their role. You had names such as Derek Fisher, Jordan Farmar, Shannon Brown and more who could've had bigger roles on other teams but instead made the most of their minutes in LA and contributed to history.

But Lamar Odom was a point-forward on those Lakers squads that was simply ahead of his time. Watching tall, lanky forwards in today's game such as Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingrams shows that if Odom played in the modern NBA where the game is position less and played at a higher speed, he may have provided even more value.

Nonetheless, LA is very happy that he was on the roster when he was as he averaged 13 points, nine boards and three assists across seven seasons with the City of Angels.

Odom recently appeared on the 'Knuckleheads' podcast and was asked that if it was up to him, which four of his former teammates would he prefer to hit the floor with? The former University of Rhode Island forward revealed that besides Miami Heat legends Dwyane Wade and Adonis Haslem, he would choose Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.

"I'm going to say D-Wade, Kobe, Pau," said Odom. "And not including y'all, I'm going to say Udonis Haslem."

Bryant and Gasol were the two main stars on the 2009 and 2010 title-winning Lakers teams and Odom got to witness their dominance up close and personal.

With the Black Mamba being able to score from any spot on the court and match up with any star on the defensive end and Gasol proving to be one of the most-skilled post players at the time, Odom had free-reign to run the fast break and use his basketball IQ to the fullest during their time together.

It's no surprise he chooses them!
