Expert Lists Just One Lakers Superstar Among Ideal 2024 Olympics Starters

In this story:
Since Team USA failed to even medal in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup this month, rumors have been flying that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is eyeing suiting up for the Olympics. It would be his last run with Team USA, and he wants to bring along some of the best players that the NBA has to offer.
Some of those players include Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors and Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns. But there is another player that could suit up for Team USA alongside James that would make all the sense in the world, and that is LA big man, Anthony Davis.
Sources: LeBron James wants to represent Team USA at 2024 Paris Olympics and is spearheading group of future Hall of Famers – including Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant – prepared to commit.

Davis and James are entering their fifth season together with the Lakers, and they have been one of the best duos the sport has to offer. If they were to suit up together on Team USA, it would be special to see.
Davis would bring size and athleticism to the team, and they could go small with him at the center position. He would be the ideal starting big man alongside James and the others. Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report listed Davis as a projected starter for Team USA.
“AD's coming off a season in which he averaged 12.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. And while he can't space the floor like JJJ, his willingness to rebound and mix it up inside would more than outweigh the lost outside shooting.”
Per Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report
This would be a fun team with Davis and James leading the charge. Laker fans would love to see this, and maybe they could recruit some of the other talented players alongside them to come join Los Angeles down the line.
The Team USA Olympic team will likely have a much different feel to it than the Team USA squad that we just saw. They need to redeem themselves after what just happened, so they need to make sure to bring out all the big guns that they have.
