Lakers News: Former Teammates Predict Whether Anyone Will Best LeBron James’ Scoring Record
Last season, Lakers star LeBron James accomplished something that nobody ever thought would be done. He surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the All-Time Leading Scorer in NBA history and has since added to the title.
But with James finally reaching the record back in February, it now begs the question of whether or not someone will eventually surpass him on the all-time list. Well, former teammate Richard Jefferson gave his thoughts on the matter during a recent episode of The Road Trippin’ Podcast.
Jefferson chimed in with his opinion, stating that James will forever hold the title of All-Time NBA scoring leader.
“Yes, that record will never be broken”

While records are meant to be broken, this record may be kind of tough to take down. After all, James was still playing at an extremely high level in his 20th NBA season. There has never been a player at his age who has been able to do what he still can.
Jefferson doubled down on his comments on someone surpassing The King at some point.
I’m willing to bet on the probability of that happening is very, very small. Small enough for me to say it will never happen.”

This seems pretty concrete from Jefferson. He has seen the entirety of James’ career, so he knows him better than anyone. It will be very difficult for anyone to break the record that James has set, especially because James is still setting it himself.
James will likely become the first-ever player to reach 40,000 points this coming NBA season, as he embarks on his 21st year in the league. What he has done over the course of his career is something that can’t be described.
The record was held by Abdul-Jabbar for a long time, so maybe one day someone comes in and breaks it. You can never say never, but this may be one of the few records across the sports landscape that may not ever be reached again.
