One of the more exciting signings from the Los Angeles Lakers offseason has been forward Cam Reddish. Reddish and the Lakers have been linked together for quite some time now, and they finally were able to come together this summer.

The young forward is still only 24 years old, but he already has six years of experience in the NBA. He hasn’t lived up to the hype that surrounded him when he first entered the NBA, but there is still promise for a nice career.

The former Duke Blue Devil is excited to join the Lakers and play alongside some of the better players that the league has to offer.

“I’m really looking forward to playing with both LeBron and AD. Two Hall of Fame Players, I’m just trying to be a sponge, learn everything that I can and it should be fun”

Per Cam Reddish via Lakers social media

Reddish provides this team with tremendous upside and the hope that he can grow into the player that many once believed he could. The former top-10 pick showed much better results last season with the Portland Trail Blazers and is hopeful to continue growing his overall game.

He finished last year averaging 10.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Reddish only shot 31.8 percent from beyond the three-point line, so that is something he will need to work on as the year progresses.

His best year as a pro came in 2021-2022 with the Atlanta Hawks when he averaged 11.9 points per game. He shot 37.9 percent from deep that season, a number that should be his goal for LA this year.

If Reddish can provide scoring off the bench, he will see his minutes increase. LA needs someone who can come in and make a splash for a few minutes at a time. He has shown that he can score the ball, it just hasn’t been consistent over his career.
