Lakers News: Darvin Ham's Goals For Anthony Davis This Season

The Lakers have some lofty goals this coming year!

The new NBA season gets underway soon, and your Los Angeles Lakers are ready to make some noise. After reaching the Western Conference Finals last season, LA has a taste for success, and they want to finish the job. But it won't come easy for them.

They know that the Western Conference is absolutely loaded and that they will need to be at the top of their game at all times. But with guys like LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the charge, the Lakers are in good shape.

Recently, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham spoke about Davis, and how he views the big man in terms of being a top player in the league. Davis has been criticized previously for not being aggressive often enough, which has held him back.

“I mean the door is not closed on a young man that is only 30 years old. I just turned 50 last month, so I have all the faith in the world. We have all the faith in the world in AD. He’s had a tremendous summer, really going to work on his body, his game."

Davis has all of the tools to be successful and just needs to stay consistent. That has been his biggest challenge throughout his career, and the one time he put together a consistent run, the Lakers won the NBA title in 2020.

Now, with a seemingly focused Davis, the Lakers have the look of a title-contending team. Ham certainly thinks so based on the offseason that LA put together.

“We’re set up to make a really deep run, but again as I said when I got the job last summer, we’re gonna go as far as our work take us. So we gotta come in each and everyday and prepare and keep that salty taste in our mouth that was left after the Western Conference Finals.”

If Davis can stay consistent this season, LA will be a real problem for opposing teams to deal with. He is the engine that drives this team, and they will be relying on him heavily. Davis knows what is at stake, and this season he has the chance to prove a ton of people wrong about him.
