Lakers News: Iconic Kobe Bryant Mural in Danger of Being Banished from LA
One of the most beautiful things about being a professional athlete in the city of Los Angeles is the special opportunity to be painted a mural. There are so many talented artists that also reside in LA and if you help bring a championship to one of the city's teams or make an impact on the fans, chances are that someone that will get busy on a wall somewhere and honor you.
Austin Reaves recently was painted his own mural in Hawthorne after a breakout season with the Lakers that saw him help them make a run to the WCF and land a new contract.
Unfortunately, it looks like another special mural in LA is in danger of being removed. A gym in downtown LA has had an iconic mural of the late, great Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant since 2020. The owner of the gym (Cecilia Moran) has now reported that the landlord of the building is giving her until the end of the year to take the mural down or else they will have to pay fines and it will still be removed.
However, it looks like Moran is not going to go down so easily.
"What he has notified me is, if I don't remove the mural by Dec. 31 he's going to be doing it and I'll have to pay all the costs that involves," Moran said.
She insisted that she's "OK with that, because I refuse and I'm going to stand for what I believe. And what I believe is that's not right.

Vanessa Bryant recently shared a petition on her Instagram to help the mural remain in its place. The petition was first started by 'Kobe Bryant Mural Locations.'
