The offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers has been longer than usual as fans got to watch their squad make an amazing postseason run and unfortunately come up short against the Denver Nuggets, who went on to take home the 2023 NBA championship.

LA responded by making a number of huge roster additions including Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish and Jaxson Hayes on top of resigning D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura.

And it looks like your Lakers will be able to get another shot at getting revenge against the Nuggets right off the jump as Shams Charania reported that LA will be facing off against Denver on opening night, which is October 24.

"JUST IN: Opening Night schedule for the 2023-24 NBA season Oct. 24 on TNT, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium: - Los Angeles Lakers @ Denver Nuggets - Phoenix Suns @ Golden State Warriors"

Along with the Lakers and Nuggets, the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors will also be facing off on TNT as well.

The Denver Nuggets were easily the best team in the league last season and they pretty much steamrolled through the playoffs. However, it's very important to remember that LA was playing must-win basketball essentially since the trade deadline.

They started off the year 2-10 and GM Rob Pelinka had to work his magic to ensure that LA would have a legit, competitive roster to not waste yet another potential postseason of LeBron James' and Anthony Davis' career.

The purple and gold should come ready for this opening night matchup for a number of reasons... the final play of their season ended with James getting swatted by Aaron Gordon, everybody views Jokic as the best big man in the league when AD clearly has the tools to take that title from him and they will have a full training camp under their belts with this new group.

Denver did win the championship so they rightfully will have home court advantage in this match so LA should fully plan to stomp in there and beat the Nuggets after they receive their championship rings... this game cannot come soon enough!
