Lakers News: LeBron James Reminisces on Former Partnership with Kyrie Irving

In this story:

LeBron James has had the opportunity to play with some elite talent during his legendary career in the NBA. Most recently, we've watched him team up with Anthony Davis on the Los Angeles Lakers, he won two rings with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade and even though he already had a lot of mileage on his legs by then, he also got time with Shaquille O'Neal before the big man retired. However, everybody looks back to his chemistry with Kyrie Irving when the two were at their peak and believes that it was a match made in heaven, especially when they won a ring together in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors.

Irving remains one of the most crafty and versatile point guards in the league, even through all of the controversy that surrounds his name. He gave James the option to defer to him when the team needed shot creation and a quick bucket.

And seeing that the Lakers officially missed out on Kyrie Irving this offseason when he re-signed with the Dallas Mavericks and everybody on Twitter has been pondering where he stands among the best point guards in the history of the league. A user by the name of @JohnnyHSD posted a hot take about Irving's greatness and actually received a response from James.

"This has nothing to do with his "all-time ranking" but this is the best player with the ball in his hands we've ever seen."

James took to his Instagram story and reposted this tweet along with a highlight reel of Irving with a simple caption that read 'EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Even though there was some animosity back in the day between James and Irving when the 31-year-old point guard first parted ways with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the two of have addressed the media since then and revealed that they respect each other's mindsets at the time and have grown in the years since.

James also was pushing heavily for the Lakers to trade for Irving this most recent deadline and even though it did not happen, we look forward to seeing LA take on the Mavericks numerous times this season.
