Lakers News: New Starter Cam Reddish Talks Explosive 4th Quarter Vs Suns

Reddish helped lead LA to a massive win!

Entering the game against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham made the decision to bench shooting guard Austin Reaves from the starting lineup in what was seen as an interesting move. He elected to give 6'8" swingman Cam Reddish a chance with the starters, and it all seemed to work out.

Reddish rewarded Ham with the decision by putting together a very solid game for the Lakers. The former No. 10 lottery pick out of Duke scored 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor during an eventual 122-119 Los Angeles win. All five of his made field goals were triples (on three attempts). He also nabbed three rebounds and swiped three steals.

He spoke after the contest about his performance, and how he helped them get the win.

"I was trying to stay ready, you know 'Bron out there so you got to be ready at all times.”

Reddish has seen some ups and downs to start his Lakers career, but he remains a valuable member of this team. He gives the club a knock-down shooter, who can defend at a decently high level as well.

His three-pointer at the end of the game to seal the win was special, and it was a reminder that hard work does pay off. Reddish missed the same exact shot against the Miami Heat recently at the end of the game, and James told him that he would go back to him in the same situation. James did exactly that, and Reddish rewarded him this time around.

It was a major confidence boost for Reddish and gave the team a much-needed victory. LA had lost three straight entering the game, so this was a good win to get them back on track.

The team now heads home for a few games, and hopefully, they can continue building on this victory. LA needs to pick up wins if they want to stay afloat in the tough Western Conference standings.
