Lakers News: Recent Playoff Opponent Doesn’t See LA Beating Them Again

In this story:
As the Los Angeles Lakers get ready to start the new NBA season here soon, they are going to have a target on their back. They are no longer the hopeful squad from last season that could win if everything works out.
LA means business this season, and they plan on hoisting up the Larry O’Brien Trophy when all is said and done. But in order to do that, they will need to go through the gauntlet that is the Western Conference once again.
One of the teams in their way will again be the Golden State Warriors. LA dispatched Golden State over six games in the second round last year, but it seems that the Warriors will be out for some revenge this season.
Golden State forward Draymond Green gave his thoughts on the Warriors chances, and it doesn’t sound like he believes anyone can take them down again.
"[The Lakers have] done it once, and that's great," Green said of the Lakers breaking Golden State's Western Conference playoff series victory streak. "Now someone has to do it again and again. And I don't foresee that happening."
Per ESPN.com
The Lakers were the only team to take down Golden State prior to the NBA Finals during the Warriors dominant run. It was a big deal when the clock hit zero in game six last season, and now it seems that the talking has begun. Green has never been shy about expressing his feelings, and he made it clear that it will be tough to beat them again.
“Green is eager to remind foes that he, Curry and Thompson -- and now Paul -- aren't going anywhere.”
Per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com
LA took them down once, and they can do it again. You could argue that the Warriors are a worse version than they were last season with their addition of guard Chris Paul. But only time will tell.
Either way, the hope is that these two rivals can meet again in the playoffs this season. It would make for great basketball content, both on and off the field of play.
