Lakers News: Why Key Los Angeles Power Player Praises HBO Series "Winning Time"

She appreciates the work!

Season two of hit Max series 'Winning Time' is currently in the process of airing new episodes week by week and even though the show continues to face backlash about whether or not their storytelling actually holds truth to it, the creators have continuously come forth and assured that they have done their best to portray all characters in a realistic light and did their research beforehand.

The Los Angeles Lakers became one of the greatest forms of entertainment back in the 1980's and 'Winning Time' can be seen as an adaption of everything the team brought to the sports, music and business worlds. In just the first two episodes that have already hit the streaming service, they have already touched on a serious knee injury that Magic Johnson sustained, more background behind LA's infamous rivalry with the Boston Celtics and the creative business tactics used by owner Jerry Buss.

And when it comes to the importance of Buss in the show, current Lakers president Jeanie Buss has actually come forth and offered words of support towards 'Winning Time.' She appreciates her late father being shown on the screen above all else.

"They just started season two and I think that John C. Riley's done a really good job at capturing Dr.Buss," said Jeanie Buss. "And I know some people are like, I can't believe you're watching that show and I said you know what, I just really miss my dad so much. It's kind of nice to see him."

No matter what negative noise is surrounding the show, Buss is just grateful that her father's story is being told and that she can hopefully re-live some of the memories that are truly captured by the creative team.
