Whenever we think of some of the most iconic players to ever hit the hardwood and go to war with LeBron James, names like Kyrie Irving, Dwyane Wade, and Anthony Davis are usually the ones that come to mind first. They are the ones that James usually speaks the most about seeing that he probably doesn't win many championships without them.

However, it has been well-documented that the King loves having some shooters on his team. When you are as dominant getting to the rim as he is, it is natural that teams will double-team you and your teammates on the wing will be wide open. Insert J.R. Smith getting traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers and it was a match made in heaven.

Smith would go to win two championships with James, one in 2016 with the Cavs and one in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers. He did play a much bigger role in that historic 2016 title than he did in the bubble run but nonetheless, Smith and James have remained friends since the last time they played together.

In fact, their bond has led to the NBA's leading scorer producing an upcoming docu-series based on the life and basketball career of his former teammate. It will be available to stream on Amazon and will be added to James' growing list of entertainment projects.

Despite the majority of NBA fans remembering Smith for his goofy personality and tendency to only shoot contested jump shots, he had a long NBA career that saw him a part of some legendary teams.

His most productive season came in 2009-2010 with the Denver Nuggets that saw him average around 15 points on 34% from deep. He played alongside rising superstar Carmelo Anthony and established himself as a guard that could shoot well and finish at the rim.

Smith's life following his retirement from the NBA should definitely be included as well because he opted to go back to school and pursue when the pandemic hit. A lot of people criticize his past decisions but someone like Smith who a lot of kids grew up watching holds impact on them when he publicizes those types of decisions.

James is definitely making a masterpiece that the NBA world will tune into and enjoy.
