In this story:

This offseason saw the Los Angeles Lakers bring back most of the team that went to the Western Conference Finals a year ago. But they also brought in some new guys to help bolster the depth and give themselves a better chance come playoff time.

One of those players is young forward Cam Reddish, who the team has been interested in for quite some time. Reddish joined LA on a two-year deal this offseason, and they couldn't be more excited that he is a member of the team.

He gives them another player who can score the basketball and someone who still has tremendous upside. While he hasn't lived up to the hype that surrounded him out of college, Reddish can still be a quality role player for the team.

Reddish spoke about the Lakers organization, and what he has learned so far being a member of the team.

“World-class organization, world-class vets. I’m just trying to take it all in and learn a lot”

LA has great mentors in place to help Reddish this season. They want him to be himself, and find a role within the culture that they have built. It seems that so far, things are looking pretty smooth for the young player.

It’s been a lot of fun, great vibe, very positive, just a ton of fun so far. A lot of great work getting in.”

Reddish was asked about the Lakers mini-training camp that took place before the official one, and the newest member of the team seemed to enjoy himself.

“Yeah that was a lot of fun. I got to know the guys a little bit better, went to dinner, things like that. Obviously got to go on the floor, have some fun drills, shooting games, things like that so it was fun.”

Having an early training camp allows for the guys to get together and start building their chemistry. It is needed for this team to reach their goals this season, especially with some of the new players on the roster.

Reddish knows that this season will be huge for him, and if he can find success, it will bode well going forward. The hope is that he can provide value for this club, and help them really contend for another NBA title.
