Newly-Signed LA Wing Shares How He Can Impact Lakers in 2023

The potential is there!

Among the many signings that the franchise made to retain their playoff core, plenty of fresh faces are set to don the purple and gold this upcoming season.

Signing with Los Angeles earlier in the summer, newest Laker wing Cam Reddish addressed the media and shared what he thought he could bring to the table this season.

A skill-set like Reddish's hasn't quite been unlocked during his time in the NBA, but the Lakers took a risk on a young player bursting with potential that we've seen in flashes.

Drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2019 draft, Reddish starred at Duke University under legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski alongside fellow top high school recruits Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett.

While his Blue Devil teammates went on to be top three picks, Reddish sort of flew under the radar as the third of the big 3 that ignited the nation.

Williamson rightfully got all the headlines and went first overall to the Pelicans after the franchise dealt cornerstone Anthony Davis to Los Angeles, a deal that's more than worked out for the Lakers.

Barrett to his credit has steadily improved in his time with the Knicks and earned himself a second extension with New York and some valuable playoff minutes, most recently this year against the Cavs and Heat.

Reddish has had some playoff heroics in his own right, almost singlehandedly taking down the eventual 2021 champion Milwaukee Bucks with a three point barrage in the series finale of Game 6 while he was with the Atlanta Hawks.

After his own stint with the Knicks, the Portland Trail Blazers dealt for Reddish to provide some bench minutes for Damian Lillard and company with mixed results.

We can only hope that Reddish puts it all together as Lebron James searches for the core that can give him his fifth ring and the franchise's 18th overall.
