Lakers Injury Report: Darvin Ham Offers Pessimistic Update On Anthony Davis' Status Vs Spurs

In this story:
Coming off of a 127-125 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers have been scheduled for a back-to-back against the 3-19 San Antonio Spurs.
While the Spurs have lost 17 consecutive games, they have some talent, highlighted by pricey guard Devin Vassell and rookie big Victor Wembanyama.
As Anthony Davis played through a groin ailment in the Dallas game, it's easy to question whether or not he'll be available for their matchup with San Antonio. Here's what Darvin Ham had to say:

Suggesting he'll "play it by ear," isn't necessarily a great sign, but for LA, this isn't a reason to panic. If the injury was in any way severe, we'd likely already know, nor would AD have been able to power through and finish up the Dallas game.
Moreover, if he were to take some time off to heal, it's best that he does it in the next couple of games, as in 5 days, LA is slated to host a solid Knicks team, and after that, they embark on a quick road trip that features matchups with Minnesota and Oklahoma City. AD is a must-have in all 3 of these games.
LA also has a scheduling quirk, where they play the Spurs both today and Friday, both on the road. As such, AD has plenty of time to sit, as even without him, LA should be at an advantage against the struggling young team.
It'll be interesting to see how the Lakers choose to guard Victor Wembanyama, as without Davis, the next man up would likely be Jaxson Hayes, who is no match for Wemby.
As a defensive coach with answers to seemingly everything, however, Darvin Ham should be able to adjust accordingly and keep LA in a good spot. That is, if AD even sits in the first place.
