Lakers News: Anthony Davis Credits This As Major Factor In Victory Against Warriors

In this story:
Yesterday, in a surprise 113-105 win against the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis showed off the kind of ability that made him such a tantalizing addition to LA's legendary list of all-time big men.
Davis had 39 points on 14-of-25 field goal shooting, eight rebounds and two blocks, while also bringing it on the defensive end with his signature pressure in the post.
The victory moved LA to a 31-34 record, tied with the No. 10 seeded Utah Jazz in a crowded Western Conference field, while dropping the fifth-seeded Dubs to an inverse record, 34-31.
With LeBron James on the shelf for an indefinite amount of time (but, at the absolute minimum, at least two more weeks) due to a tendon injury and D'Angelo Russell still day-to-day with a sprained ankle, LA will probably need repeat performances of this magnitude out of Davis.
He spoke with gathered media following the game about how he -- and the rest of the team -- stepped up to secure a victory.

"We all felt like we let one go against Minnesota," Davis said, referring to a 110-103 loss on Friday against D'Angelo Russell's former club. "We had some good film on ways we could be better."
"We know is this is an elite third quarter team. Defending champions, you know they're going to make a run. They're going to make plays, make shots," Davis said of the Warriors. "Between Steph, Klay and Jordan Poole, they're elite shooters Then we locked in defensively, they got away a couple times, but we just continued to compete."
"Obviously with 'Bron out, the team's going to allow me more to make plays, for myself, for others, and other guys are stepping up well. Making shots, defending. So it's a team effort."
