Coming off of a 2022-2023 NBA season that ended with the Cleveland Cavaliers, one former Los Angeles Lakers guard opted for a second stint with another Eastern Conference team from his past to play for in 2024 as a free agent.

By agreeing to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, a familiar face with Purple and Gold ties has decided he wants another year in the league with the City of Brotherly Love as the location.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has the scoop:

Danny Green originally signed with the Lakers following the 2018-19 season, after he won that year's NBA championship alongside Kawhi Leonard for the Toronto Raptors in six games over the Warriors.

Coming over to the West Coast for 2020, the normally deadly three-point marksman and defensive specialist wasn't as effective from behind the arc as an Angeleno, drawing the ire of many fans across social media.

The peak of such criticism came in Game 5 of the NBA Finals in the bubble after Green missed a wide open three that would've sealed the championship for LA had he knocked it down.

Even as the Lakers won it all just a game later, such comments from fans that included death threats among others likely drew Green away from the team and prompted him to end up in Philadelphia for the 2021 season.

Green spent two seasons in Philly for his first go-around, unfortunately tearing his ACL in the second of them.

The injury has left Green limited compared to his prime form with the Spurs where arguments have made that he could've won the 2014 Finals MVP over his two time teammate Leonard.

Nevertheless, the former Tar Heel is now 36 and this figures to be one of the last stops to a long career for the three time champion, the last of which of course gave LA banner #17.
