Lakers News: NBA Fan Reactions To LA's Surprising Loss Against Rockets

In this story:
Last night, your 34-36 Los Angeles Lakers fell to the lowest-seeded team in the Western Conference, the 17-52 Houston Rockets, while missing future Hall of Famers LeBron James and Anthony Davis, plus 3-and-D reserve center Mo Bamba.
If you were on Twitter last night, you no doubt saw the aggrieved complaints of Purple and Gold Nation, confounded by the fact that once again Los Angeles blew a shot to ascend to a .500 record for the first time this season. Lakers Lead notes that the Rockets were a "16 win" team, which they of course were prior to the Lakers victory.

An apparent Russell Westbrook enthusiast weighed in with a traumatic flashback from the Lakers' near-win against the Boston Celtics earlier this season, noting that Brodie's new LA team is currently performing better than the old one (to be fair, the new one is healthy, and the old one was, again, missing its two best players last night):

A certain slap-happy recent Oscar winner was invoked in reaction to the Clippers win and Lakers loss. Also, outside of Clipper Darrell, random Russ stans, and Billy Crystal, are there even Clippers fans?

Calling longtime Los Angeles Times sportswriter and ESPN personality Bill Plaschke an NBA fan is technically true, but kind of misses the broader point of what he is -- a veteran NBA expert. Still, we needed to pad out the list, so here are his thoughts on LA's weird plan to sit Anthony Davis during what was almost sure to be a guaranteed win with him playing:
For all of you who want the Lakers to trade AD, tonight is yet another in a litany of reasons why. He should have played. The Lakers should have beaten the last-place Rockets. This is not meaningless.

And that's not the end of it.
Starting Houston point guard Kevin Porter Jr., who led the way for Houston last night with 25 points, was given the gif treatment in response to the Rockets W.
Lakers fans: “Tonight will be an easy win.”
