Former Lakers Fan Favorite Envisions 2019 Championship with Health

The 2018-2019 Los Angeles Lakers squad was a very interesting one. Instead of signing with a rising Philadelphia 76ers squad or a legit contender in the Houston Rockets, superstar LeBron James decided to leave Cleveland once again and join the purple and gold. LA's front office responded by putting together a roster headlined by a number of veterans that could make plays to pair with their own young core.
This was a little different than the usual rosters constructed around James which usually had one other primary scorer and the rest of the players around him would usually be shooters. However, I guess The King figured that a change of scenery meant that they should try out a different game plan as well.
One of the notable names on that roster was someone that had tried to get under James' skin in the past and that was none other than Lance Stephenson. He was past his best years with the Indiana Pacers but still provided energy and scoring.
And in a recent interview with Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson of Bally Sports, Stephenson revealed that he believes LA would have taken home the title that season if not for some key injuries to their main guys.
Stephenson spoke with Robinson during And 1's Open Run at Kingdome in Harlem, New York City.
LeBron James’ Lakers would’ve won Championship in 2019 if LeBron & Kyle Kuzma hadn’t gotten hurt says Lance Stephenson to @BallySports.

“We woulda won it!”

"We would've won it," said Stephenson. "'LeBron got hurt that year with his groin, Kuzma got hurt. A lot of guys got hurt, I feel like we would've won it that year."

Even though that was a young squad with a number of lottery picks that hadn't reached their full potential yet such as Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, they were keeping up with the pack before LeBron James hurt his groin.
LA was fighting as a top-four seed around Christmas time and even took down the Golden State Warriors on the Christmas Day special. Hindsight is 20/20 but with a healthy LeBron, we have seen that anything is possible!
