Lakers News: Clippers Paul George Predicts Luka "Could Probably Catch Bron" With A Huge But

In this story:
Displaying dominance from an early age and being the most-hyped high school prospect ever, Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James immediately drew comparisons to former Chicago Bulls shooting guard Michael Jordan. However, due to his love for sharing the ball with teammates and fast break highlights, fans would soon come to realize that maybe Magic Johnson was the better comparison.
Now in year 20, we have been looking to see who LeBron James will pass the torch to as Father Time creeps in and there is a certain 6'7 point guard in Dallas that is a likely candidate. Controlling the pace of every game and using his size to his advantage, Mavericks All-Star Luka Doncic has been dominating competition since getting drafted in 2018 and has drawn numerous comparisons to The King.
Los Angeles Clippers All-Star Paul George has been the most recent to place the two generational talents in the same breath and dropped a hot take on his new show "Podcast P With Paul George". The Palmdale native was talking about James' new scoring record and who he thinks could catch him.
"What he's doing is unbelievable with those stats," said George. "You look at what Luka [Dončić] is doing being the young version of LeBron in terms of passing, scoring and rebounding. From a numbers standpoint, Luka could probably catch Bron, but the longevity is what I don't think people will get to, twenty years of being dominant."
The standards in which basketball fans still hold James to are out of this world considering his age. It isn't until he goes down injury, like he did recently against the Dallas Mavericks, that people realize what he has done this year is truly special. Fortunately, we do have players like George who compete and get to witness James' historic run up close.
Doncic has actually come out and addressed whether or not he'd be willing to play long enough to break James' record. In an interview with journalist Landon Buford, he did not seem too thrilled about the idea of playing for so long.
"It’s always a possibility, but it’s going to be really tough," said Doncic. "You gotta have a guy that plays for 20 years… If you’re saying me there’s no way [cause] I’m not playing that much."
