Lakers News: LA Hall Of Famer Explains Pay-It-Forward Ethos To Entrepreneurship

He wants to help the next generation!

Part of maturing in life is realizing that having a lot of knowledge becomes useless after a while if it is not being shared and passed down to the right people. All the in the NBA, we see stars as they grow older take on a mentorship role and try to teach their younger teammates the rights and wrongs that come with the game of basketball based one their own unique experiences.

Well the same goes off the court and now that Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has officially been named a part-owner of the Washington Commanders, he has realized how much he can help current star athletes make the most of their own business opportunities. Johnson has thrived in the decades following his NBA career and it's because he's learned the world of business and has paid dues to some excellent teachers.

But the transcendent retired point guard is making it clear that he hopes to see other star athletes follow in his footsteps and has already been in talks with some of them.

I also want to dispel the myth that we can dominate on the court or on the field but we can’t dominate in business. I wanted to dispel that myth. Now we have to keep it going.
