In this story:

With the new NBA season starting soon, your Los Angeles Lakers are gearing up for another exciting season. Training camp starts in a few weeks, and the team is entering the year with title aspirations once again.

They have a loaded roster, that should allow for much flexibility this season. Their depth is arguably one of the best in the league, which should make head coach Darvin Ham very happy. The biggest problem that he will have is how to spread minutes out to everyone this season.

But one player in particular has the purple and gold very interested, and that would be second-year player Max Christie. Christie took massive strides this offseason, showing that he could be the main option for an offense during the NBA summer league. He looked aggressive and assertive, something that he lacked a season ago.

"Coming off a rookie season of growth that saw him split time between the G-League’s South Bay Lakers and the main roster, Christie displayed the strides he’s made over the past 12 months with a fantastic showing over the summer in the California Classic and the Las Vegas Summer League.”

Per Darius Soriano of NBA.com

At times last year, Christie was timid and afraid to make a mistake, which can be normal for a rookie player. But he is ready to show what he can do this season, and he wants to earn his minutes.

His performance in the summer league was a breath of fresh air for the Lakers, because it meant that they could have him on the team this season. His ability to knock down three-point shots at a high rate and his defensive abilities are exactly what this team needs this season.

“Christie will look to build on these performances and fight for a spot in the rotation in his sophomore campaign."

Per Darius Soriano of NBA.com

He looks to be a lock for rotation minutes, and the team couldn’t be more excited. They have been high on Christie since they drafted him over a year ago, and now he will get his chance to shine this season.
