Lakers News: Latest Odds For Team USA's FIBA World Cup Medaling

In this story:
It has been a pleasure knowing that even though we are still some time away from watching our Los Angeles Lakers take the floor again, we are still able to enjoy Austin Reaves suiting up for Team USA in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. It has been quite the offseason for Reaves as he was able to get his own signature shoe, agree to a new deal with the purple and gold and now has the opportunity to play alongside some of the NBA's premier talent.
We were able to watch Team USA play their first exhibition match against Puerto Rico and even though it was a tight matchup in the first half, USA's athleticism and fast break scoring proved to be far too much for their opponents. Reaves did all of his offensive work in the first half as he dropped nine points to go along with some excellent playmaking and plenty of love from the fans.
When looking at the rest of their opponents, Team USA will have to prepare for the weeks moving forward as a number of squads have compiled respectable rosters as well. Everybody is looking forward to a potential matchup against Team Canada led by superstars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jamal Murray along with Team France led by Rudy Gobert who has now been extending his range to the three-point line.
However, Team USA must first focus on their own opponents within their own Group C and according to BetOnline.com, they are listed as the favorites to win with betting odds of -1250.
So we are going to have to see how this group continues to gel with one another. The two most-gifted scorers in my opinion are Anthony Edwards and Brandon Ingram but then you also have rising stars who excel with the ball in their hands as well in Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges. This is a good problem to have and it only makes fans appreciate Reaves that much more when you consider how he impacts the game even when he isn't scoring!
