Lakers News: LeBron James Expands I Promise School's Commitment To Students

In this story:

As LeBron James' career goes on, he continues to build his brand outside of just the sports world. He is undoubtedly one of the most influential basketball players of all time but his impact on young athletes goes far beyond just the hardwood.

Having three children of his own, James understands how important it is to invest in our youth. He has regarded his mother as the most important figure in his life for raising him by all herself and The King has responded by making sure he does everything he can for his family and community.

When his "I Promise" school was first opened back in 2018, this was just the beginning of James' efforts to give kids from his hometown the opportunity to be successful. Having already garnered millions through NBA contracts and securing a lifetime deal with Nike, he has figured out ways to use his money to help the world.

Some big updates are coming to his school and one of those is a new apartment complex that will be used as housing but also a space to teach even more students.

"The housing complex holds a garden and basketball courts. Official space is available on the first floor as well as a semi-professional kitchen where classes will be held to promote healthy lifestyles for residents."

More opportunities for jobs will also become available as a new facility will be opened up as well that will own different restaurants, museums, and concert venues.

"House Three Thirty is in the former Tangier & Cabaret. Retail, dining and event facilities will give I Promise families business experience that will prepare them for future employment opportunities."

James is always looking to stay up to date with what's going on in the world and he knows that the students of his school will need more than academics as they grow. Our Lakers' superstar has an amazing set of projects going for himself once he decides to retire.
