Why Expert Thinks Prime Anthony Davis Was Better Than Hall Of Fame Lakers Teammate

In this story:
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a number of excellent big men come their way throughout the history of the game and their championship teams have been prime examples that in order to reach the promised land, you need a reliable center down low that is willing to do the dirty work on both ends.
For all of the criticism that Shaquille O'Neal caught throughout his career, he always made sure to take certain matchups personal and during his prime years, he wanted to be known as the best center in the league.
Therefore, when you take a look at Anthony Davis heading into the 2023-2024 season, many Lakers fans want to see him take that leap and truly solidify himself as the best big man in the game right now. It obviously will not be easy seeing that Joel Embiid just won MVP and Nikola Jokic led his Denver Nuggets past LA to their first NBA championship. However, AD has only been slowed down by injuries since he helped the Lakers win their 2020 title and has a deep roster around him now.
Stan Van Gundy recently made headlines as he shared his personal opinion about Davis being placed on the NBA'S top-75 player list over Dwight Howard and explained that that cannot be the case seeing that Davis is just 30-years-old and his career still needs to finish out.
“You cannot make a case that Anthony Davis had a better career than Dwight Howard, that’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Columnist Josh Eberley also chimed in his own opinion and he keyed in on AD's performance in the 2020 playoffs, claiming that he was very close to the perfect big man.
His argument does to have be heard seeing that Davis was able to be a huge difference-maker on the defensive end while also putting up some of his best numbers from beyond the arc.
I know MANY of you hate this, hell, I HATED it, but bubble AD was close to the perfect big man.

Best defender in the playoffs and found Dirk's touch offensively.
66.5 TS% on 28 a game from a guy that's holding it down on defense? https://t.co/WOdhzblI3O
