Dallas Mavs Injury Report: Kyrie Irving, Tim Hardaway Jr. to Return vs. Utah Jazz

After being sidelined due to injuries, Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway Jr. are set to return to the Mavs' lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the Jazz.

DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks enter Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz losing five of their last seven games. The team regained Luka Doncic in the lineup for losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday but played without Kyrie Irving and various essential rotation players.

When the Mavs return to action to face the Utah Jazz, they will have some key players back in the fold. The injury report the team originally submitted involved various key players with questionable designations. Irving (foot soreness) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (back spasms) have already been upgraded to available. Grant Williams (knee soreness) remains questionable.

Irving mentioned suffering a "tweak" in his foot during the first quarter of the Mavs' loss against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. He was then sidelined for the team's matchup against the Thunder on the second night of a back-to-back.

"I had a bit of a tweak to my foot at the end of the first quarter, so just trying to get my balance underneath me — it's hard to settle back in once you feel a tweak like that, especially in your feet," Irving said. "I was just doing my best to stay mentally prepared for anything that could happen out there."

There was no mention of whether any players on the latest injury update participated in Tuesday's practice, with Kidd not talking to reporters, but Wednesday's report offered prompt status changes. It was mentioned after Monday's practice that Irving and Hardaway were among the team's participants during that particular session.

On Monday, there was mention of a potential update regarding Green's injury coming the following day, but no further information was provided. Kidd told reporters he "doesn't know" if Green's injury requires long-term recovery. Shams Charania later reported that a timeline would take a couple of weeks for Green's injury recovery.

Similar to Doncic. Exum was out for personal reasons, which were later revealed to be due to the birth of his child. He is no longer on the injury report, meaning the Mavs will at least gain additional backcourt help against the Jazz.

More updates will come from Kidd during the team's pre-game injury announcement before Wednesday's matchup against Utah. Stay tuned to DallasBasketball.com for further updates.
