The three biggest takeaways from the Nets' blowout win over Miami

The Brooklyn Nets snapped their three-game losing streak by beating the Miami Heat at Barclays.

It was a phenomenal day for the Nets as they managed to win a big game against the Miami Heat and snap their three-game losing streak. They are back on track to getting a .500 record, which looks likely as they face a struggling Chicago Bulls team next.

There were some good takeaways for this game against the Heat as the Nets blew Miami out.

Dinwiddie continues to improve as a playmaker

Mikal Bridges led the team with 24 points, but the most impressive offensive player was Spencer Dinwiddie. The veteran guard posted a stat line of 14 points and 11 assists, a second-consecutive double-double.

He made some fantastic passes on the night, increasingly becoming more comfortable as the team's primary playmaker while Ben Simmons is still out. Spencer also only took nine total shots during the game, which is not what people expect, as he's more of a score-first guard.

Cam Johnson is getting back to his old form

This was one of Cameron Johnson's best performances during the 2023/24 season. He started scorching hot with 12 points without missing a shot in the first quarter. That set the tone for the rest of the Nets as they kept pulling away from Miami.

In his 35 minutes on the floor, Johnson was a +29, the highest out of any player in the game. The Nets' offense, whenever he was playing, had better flow as he was hitting his jumpshots and the defense had to respect that.

The Nets rookies finally make their debut

The game against the Heat was also an opportunity for Dariq Whitehead and Noah Clowney to get a few minutes of game time. Only Whitehead scored in the game but this was a sign of what's to come for the Nets as these two rookies are still extremely young at 19 years old.

They will have a bright future as they develop under head coach Jacque Vaughn. They have some good role models, and these rookies will stand out when given the opportunities they need.
