Suns Give Injury Update on Chris Paul

In this story:
Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul suffered a groin injury in Monday night's Game 2 loss to the Denver Nuggets. Paul has a history of injuries in postseason play, and the Suns are hoping this is not another extended absence for him. After the game, Suns head coach Monty Williams was asked about Paul, and said he could not push off at all, and the team will learn more about the severity of his injury tomorrow.
Monty Williams said Chris Paul couldn’t push off “at all” after his groin injury. Suns will learn more about severity tomorrow. Paul already left the arena.

The Suns are now down 0-2 in the series, but are heading back home to Phoenix for Games 3 and 4. Having lost the first two games of the series, the Suns certainly feel as if they need to win the next two games, and head back to Denver for Game 5 with a 2-2 series. If Paul is forced to miss any time, it will certainly be a major hit to the Suns. That said, they still have two star talents in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
A second round exit would be incredibly disappointing for this Suns team, especially after they traded so much to acquire Durant from the Nets earlier this season. As Monty Williams said after the game, Phoenix will learn more about the severity of Chris Paul’s injury in the next day. That story will certainly be something to follow.
Game 3 between the Suns and Nuggets will be on Friday, as Phoenix will look to avoid falling in an 0-3 hole. The status of Chris Paul will be crucial.
