With a win over the Utah Jazz, the Denver Nuggets extended their winning streak to seven games, tying their season-high. Not only is the Nuggets' health improving, but overall, they are clicking as a team at the right time.

The Nuggets have been playing exceptional basketball over the last seven games, and their All-Star duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray has been very impressive. After their win over the Jazz, Murray spoke about why the team has seen this level of success during their seven-game winning streak.

“Just expecting more from ourselves throughout the game. Just not letting up," Murray said. "We know [the Jazz], they come out and play every single game. ... We just got to make sure that we bring an intensity and focus to match that or exceed it. Every game, we've been trying to create good habits, no matter who we’re playing. No matter what the coverage is. We’re playing with some confidence and playing with some trust. Like I said, create good habits for the playoffs."

Nuggets and Murray are playing with confidence

As Murray said, the Nuggets are playing with confidence and bringing the energy, regardless of who their opponent is. During this seven-game winning streak, the Nuggets have beaten four teams currently sitting in the play-in tournament, with the other three wins coming against lottery teams. Sure, it would be great to be tested against legitimate playoff opponents, but great teams know how to win the games they are supposed to win.

In the win over Utah, Murray led the way with 37 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while shooting 12-26 from the field and 10-16 from three-point range. The Nuggets are now 5-0 on the season when Murray hits eight or more three-pointers, and are also 10-3 when he scores 35 or more points.

"Just playing aggressive, playing my game," Murray said about his impressive performance. "Ball's finding me, and I'm just playing free. That's the biggest thing this whole year, I've just been playing free. And my teammates trust me, and I've been able to back them up."

Denver succeeds when Murray is at his best, so finding this type of rhythm ahead of the playoffs is huge.

Winning on the road

With the win in Salt Lake City, the Nuggets have also matched a franchise record for most road wins in a season with 25. Being able to win on the road is key for successful playoff teams, and the Nuggets have done just that.

"Doing a good job. Playing fast. Playing free," Murray said about winning on the road. "It's good to keep this kind of rhythm going into the playoffs."

Four of Denver's final five games will be at home, with their lone road game being against the San Antonio Spurs for the regular season finale. With two games against the Spurs and one against the Oklahoma City Thunder in their final five games, the Nuggets will certainly be tested ahead of the postseason.
