NBA Legend Makes Very Bold Statement on Denver Nuggets

In this story:
The Western Conference is shaping up to be an absolute war in the playoffs this season. Nearly any team is capable of upsetting another in the first round. However, Paul Pierce believes there's only one safe team in the first round - the Denver Nuggets.
On the newest episode of KG Certified, Pierce made a very bold claim about the Denver Nuggets. In fact, he's willing to put money on his prediction.
"The only team that I know for sure ain't losing in the first round is Denver," Pierce said. "Everybody else I feel like can get popped in the first round if the match up wrong. Everybody else. Denver is the only team I'm confident that's getting out the first round, and I'm putting cheese up."
This year might be the Lakers and Warriors last chance to make a run.

When it comes to the other teams in the top 4, Pierce doesn't have anywhere near as much faith. He believes the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder could get upset by the more veteran teams in the first round.
"Minnesota, if they see Golden State," Pierce said. "OKC, if they see the Lakers or Golden State. Do you know what I'm saying? These types of scenarios can come into play where I'm not confident."
Paul Pierce isn't guaranteeing that the Timberwolves or Thunder would lose in the first round, he's saying it seems possible enough that he wouldn't bet money on it - which is a very fair statement. In all honesty, the Denver Nuggets should be the safest bet for anyone in the first round if they're fully healthy.
