NBA Star Gets Honest on Nikola Jokic vs. Joel Embiid Debate

The Nikola Jokic vs. Joel Embiid debate was very prevalent last season when the two were neck and neck in the MVP race. While Embiid ending up winning the regular season MVP award, Jokic got the last laugh with the Finals MVP award. For many, this ended the debate.

During a recent episode of the Gil's Arena Show, Indiana Pacers star Myles Turner discussed this Jokic vs. Embiid debate, and said the Denver Nuggets superstar is much harder to stop than the Philadelphia 76ers big man.

"When Jokic goes out there, he's like literally painting himself on that canvas. He's doing everything, he's getting people involved, he does not have to score to actually have an emphasis on that game... You can't double Jokic... Embiid you can control a little more, Jokic it's like there's stuff that's out of your control."

While this seems to be the consensus now, it's still interesting to hear it described by a player who has lined up against both Jokic and Embiid. With the ultimate test always being postseason play, Jokic silenced any noise about his ability in that setting, while Embiid has still yet to make the Conference Finals.

Embiid was a deserving recipient of the 2023 MVP award, but Jokic now has two of those trophies to go with his championship and Finals MVP.
