Nikola Jokic Reacts to Making History vs. Suns

Closing out the Phoenix Suns in Game 6, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic became the first player in the last 60 years to average at least 30 PPG, 10 RPG, and 10 APG in a series win. When asked after the game if he ever anticipated getting to this point, Jokic said he never even anticipated being in the NBA.

"No. I think you cannot imagine that," Jokic said. "I never imagined I would be in the NBA. But that's how it happened, and I'm glad that I'm here. I'm just happy that my team is winning. The last five years we are improving every year, and every year we are making something new. So it's just amazing to be a part of this journey... I think we can do something nice."

It was a great question and a great answer, as the Nuggets star is always able to put his accomplishments into perspective. Breaking records on a nightly basis, Jokic is always making history, but his focus remains on his team.

The Nuggets are now one series win away from the NBA Finals, and will face the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors series in the Western Conference Finals. If Jokic continues this level of play, he and his team will be incredibly difficult to beat.
