Where CBS Sports ranked Indiana Pacers players on their top 100 NBA player rankings
CBS Sports recently released its list of the top 100 players in the NBA, and the Indiana Pacers have a few inclusions.
The first player squeaking into the mix is Bruce Brown, who comes in at the 98th overall spot. He was not ranked by CBS last season, but took a big jump after a productive season with the Denver Nuggets.
Brown agreed to a two-year, $45 million contract with the Pacers this offseason. He is the team's premier addition heading into a season filled with expectations, so the blue and gold will hope that he can remain a solid point of attack defender while also being able to knock down shots.
The second Pacers player on CBS' list is Myles Turner, who lands in the 66th spot. He climbed up from 70th last season. Turner had a career year in 2022-23, and his improvement on the offensive end likely had the most to do with his ranking growth.
The big man averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the blue and gold last season, and both of those numbers were career highs. He was solid on defense as well, though his effectiveness took a hit due to his team struggling on that end of the floor in general. Still, his ability to alter shots at the rim is among the best in the league.
The final Pacers player on CBS' top 100 NBA player rankings is Tyrese Haliburton, who sits 23rd. He is one spot ahead of Jaylen Brown and one behind Anthony Edwards, a deserved ranking for an All-Star player.
Haliburton jumped 30 spots from CBS' list in 2022. That's largely because he went from an emerging talent to a star, and he's still just 23 years old. His ability to score, shoot, and pass is not matched by anyone in the league.
CBS and Bleacher Report have both released top-100 NBA player rankings now, and they differ slightly in their Pacers inclusion. B/R had Bennedict Mathurin ranked 94th, Brown at 88, Turner at 57, and Haliburton at 33. They are higher on Indiana's second tier of players than CBS, but lower on the star.
