Myles Turner and Tyrese Haliburton of Indiana Pacers nominated for Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Turner and Haliburton led the Pacers to a 3-1 record last week

The NBA announced the winners and finalists for Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday for last week, and the Indiana Pacers had two nominees in Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner.

The award is given to the player who had the best performances in a given week, which this time spanned from January 1 through 7. Last week, Haliburton was the winner in the East.

This time, Jalen Brunson was the winner. He guided the New York Knicks to a 4-0 record and averaged over 27 points and nine assists per game. Alperen Sengün was the winner in the Western Conference.

The Pacers went 3-1 during the week, including two impressive wins over the Milwaukee Bucks. They improved to 20-15 as a result.

During the four-game stretch, Haliburton averaged 21.0 points and 12.0 assists per game. He had a special 18-assist performance against the Atlanta Hawks in just 25 minutes, and the Pacers set their franchise record for assists that night.

Turner, meanwhile, averaged 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game during the week. He has been rock-solid for Indiana for the last few weeks now, and his defense has looked better of late.

Haliburton and Turner were both nominees for Eastern Conference Player of the Month in December. Their partnership has developed as the season has progressed, and they are one of the most potent pick-and-roll partnerships in the league.

Haliburton is now injured, so Turner raising his level in the coming weeks will be important. Indiana next hits the court on Wednesday when they host the Washington Wizards.
