NBA Insider Details Latest Developments of Pistons Isaiah Stewart's Altercation

Shams Charania gives latest information on Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart.

One of the biggest stories in the NBA right now is centered around Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart. Earlier this week, he got got into a physical altercation with Phoenix Suns big man Drew Eubanks. 

The incident occurred on Wednesday night before the Pistons squared off against the Suns. According to reports, punches were thrown and it led to Stewart being detained by Phoenix police. 

Late Thursday afternoon, NBA insider Shams Charania provided the latest on the situation. This whole situation stemmed from the two having bad blood from the previous time these teams faced each other. Charania went into full detail about the events that transpired. 

"Isaiah Stewart, Drew Eubanks were in the back hallways pregame. Exchanged some words, and it really stemmed from their last game against each other," Charania said. "They were chest to chest, Isaiah Stewart dropped his bags and punched Drew Eubanks in the face amid there exchanging of words. I'm told Drew Eubanks was punched in the mouth and from what I'm told, Drew Eubanks barely flinched." 

Charania also cited that the NBA will be launching an official review of the situation. At this time, there is no telling if or what kind of suspension the Pistons big man will face. 

Following this altercation, the Pistons went on to lose to the Suns by a final score of 116-100. Extending their losing streak to three games. The main standout for Detroit was new addition Simone Fontecchio, who scored a team-high 18 points. 

Stewart, 22, is in the midst of his fourth season with the Pistons. He's played in 35 games this season and is averaging 11.0 PPG, 6.8 RPG, and 1.7 APG.
