Watch: Pistons Stunned on Late-Game No Call for Second Straight Matchup

Over the past 72 hours, the Detroit Pistons have been in a pair of nail-biting matchups. They didn't come out on top on either occasion, and both games had something in common. That being there was a questionable no-call from the officials that completely changed the game.

The first one came on Saturday against the Orlando Magic. Paolo Banchero hit a game-winning shot over Jalen Duren in the final seconds to seal the matchup. However, it looked like he may have traveled on the play. The league looked at the play again for the two-minute report, and decided that the right call was made.

Fast forward to Monday, and the Pistons once again found themselves in a position to win in the final seconds. They were up by one point over the New York Knicks with 30 seconds left, and the chaos ensued.

As the Knicks were trying to hit a game-winner, Ausar Thompson picked up a clutch steal. While making his way up the court, he ran into Donte DiVincenzo and the ball came loose. The Knicks guard was diving for the ball, which likely should have resulted in a foul call.

Instead, the refs let the play continue. Jalen Brunson ended up recovering the ball and firing it up-court to a cutting Josh Hart. He ended up getting a layup to fall, icing the game for the Knicks in the process. In the end, the Pistons walked out of MSG with a two-point defeat.

Cade Cunningham was once again the main standout for the Pistons in this heartbreaking loss. The former No. 1 pick finished with 32 points, five rebounds, and eight assists on 52.6% shooting from the field.

Detroit will have a quick turnaround as they are slated to face the Chicago Bulls in the second leg of a back-to-back on Tuesday night.
