The NBA announced the 2014 Eastern and Western Conference All-Star reserves on Thursday, a group of 14 players selected by a vote of the league's coaches.

Eastern Conference reserves: Chris Bosh (Heat), DeMar DeRozan (Raptors), Roy Hibbert (Pacers), Joe Johnson (Nets), Paul Millsap (Hawks), Joakim Noah (Bulls), and John Wall (Wizards)

Western Conference reserves: LaMarcus Aldridge (Blazers), James Harden (Rockets), Dwight Howard (Rockets), Damian Lillard (Blazers), Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks), Tony Parker (Spurs), and Chris Paul (Clippers)

DeRozan, Lillard, Millsap, and Wall were all selected to their first All-Star Game.

Coaches could not vote for their own players and were asked to select two backcourt players, three frontcourt players and two “wildcard” players, who could play any position, from within their conference.

A list of the biggest names not selected to the 2014 All-Star Game includes: Arron Afflalo (Magic), Mike Conley (Grizzlies), DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), Anthony Davis (Pelicans), Goran Dragic (Suns), Andre Drummond (Pistons), Tim Duncan (Spurs), Serge Ibaka (Thunder), Al Jefferson (Bobcats), Ty Lawson (Nuggets), David Lee (Warriors), Kyle Lowry (Raptors), Lance Stephenson (Pacers), Kemba Walker (Bobcats), David West (Pacers) and Russell Westbrook (Thunder).

The 14 reserves announced Thursday will join the ten starters selected by a fan vote that were announced last week.

Eastern Conference starters: Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers), Dwyane Wade (Heat), LeBron James (Heat), Paul George (Pacers), Carmelo Anthony (Knicks)

Western Conference starters: Stephen Curry (Warriors), Kobe Bryant (Lakers), Kevin Durant (Thunder), Blake Griffin (Clippers), Kevin Love (Timberwolves)

Bryant will be sidelined through All-Star Weekend with a knee injury. The NBA league office will name a roster replacement for Bryant once he is officially scratched due to injury.

Fans were asked to select two backcourt players and three frontcourt players, as this year’s ballot combined the “center” and “forwards” designations into one category.

The Point Forward took a look at the worthiness of the starters and offered our own picks for both the starters and the reserves.
