Suns Emerge as Team Interested in Jalen McDaniels

The Phoenix Suns have reportedly shown interest in Charlotte Hornets forward Jalen McDaniels.

We're now under one month to go until the NBA's trade deadline is here, and the Phoenix Suns now feel more pressure than ever to find a suitable trade for power forward Jae Crowder.

We've seen developments come and go such as rejected trade from the Washington Wizards for Rui Hachimura and a three-team deal that broke down thanks to the Utah Jazz wanting multiple first-round picks.

Phoenix has (reportedly) been adamant on landing a starting caliber player in return for Crowder, and while Kyle Kuzma still fits that bill the best, the Suns have also shown interest in Charlotte Hornets forward Jalen McDaniels according to NBA insider Shams Charania:

"There's been increasing interest in Charlotte Hornets forward Jalen McDaniels around the league as a potential trade candidate. Sources tell me that the Suns have emerged as a team with interest in McDaniels among several others in recent weeks," he said.

"McDaniels is a player who makes sense for the Suns as a target in a potential Jae Crowder three-team deal. This is a six-nine wing, two-way player having a career year averaging nearly 11 points, five rebounds and two assists. Defends multiple positions, makes over one three a game and he's a favorite of their new coach Steve Clifford, a good developmental story of Mitch Kupchak.

"So there are rival teams monitoring his status ahead of unrestricted free agency this upcoming offseason where he's gonna be a sought-after free agent coming up here."

The Suns have won just one of their last ten games and need to start stringing together wins sooner than later in order to save their season. Could McDaniels be a piece to solve that puzzle?

Time will tell, but it's apparent the Suns are now stretching far and wide to find a suitable asset to add to their roster.
