Kevin Durant's Potential Return Date Revealed

The Phoenix Suns have awaited another return of Kevin Durant from injury. It could come as soon as next week, says one NBA insider.

The Phoenix Suns have been fairly patient with forward Kevin Durant, who initially arrived via trade from the Brooklyn Nets with a sprained MCL. Durant came back - looked nothing short of tremendous - and eventually sprained his ankle again.

We're nearly three weeks removed from his slip in the winding moments of time before his then-expected home debut in Phoenix.

Now, his home debut could come as soon as next week.

The Athletic's Shams Charania is reporting the Suns are potentially expecting Durant back for next Wednesday's home meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves "barring any setback" according to his sources.

Charania added in a second tweet: "A targeted home return of Wednesday vs. Minnesota will give Durant and the Suns seven final regular season games to prepare for the playoffs. Phoenix currently holds the fourth seed in the West, just two games ahead of the No. 7-seeded T'Wolves."

The Suns (who went 3-0 with Durant on the court) have been starved of help next to Devin Booker in the scoring department. Phoenix has lost their last five-of-six and are now toying with fire in terms of seeding in the Western Conference.

Phoenix will play three games between now and Wednesday, starting with an away meeting with the Sacramento Kings tonight. They then return home for the second night of a back-to-back when they host the Philadelphia 76ers before going on the road to face the Utah Jazz on Monday.

If Durant isn't able to play next Wednesday, the Suns play two days later at home against the West's top team in the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
